Welcome to the Rex K-12 Computer Science Camps, hosted at Carroll Middle School! Our camps offer exciting opportunities for students to explore the world of computer science through hands-on learning and creative projects. Join us for a week of fun and discovery!

Our camps are designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of computer science while fostering creativity and problem-solving skills. Each camp session is led by experienced instructors and offers a dynamic learning environment.

Data Visualization Game Development

Introduction to Coding
(Scratch Jr.)

Students will learn the basics of coding through interactive games and stories using Scratch Jr.

(Students must bring their own iPad or Chromebook with the “Scratch Jr.” app downloaded onto the device.)

Time: 9:00 am-12:00 pm CST

Data Visualization Game Development

Game & Animation Design (Scratch)

Students will create their own games and animations using Scratch, a beginner-friendly programming language.

(Students need to bring their own Chromebook or laptop)

Time: 9:00 am-12:00 pm CST

Grades 6—8
Data Visualization Game Development

Intro to Web Design (HTML/CSS)

Students will learn the basics of web design using HTML and CSS to create their own web pages.

(Students need to bring their own Chromebook or laptop)

Time: 12:30-3:30pm CST

Students will create 2D games using online coding resources used by professional game designers.

Time: 12:30 pm-3:30 pm
