At Rex Academy, we are dedicated to building quality computer science education for all ages. Our core belief is that computer science should be available to all learners as it is a gateway to many opportunities.

Learning to code is comparable to learning reading, writing, and math for this generation. Rex makes this process easy and enjoyable for all!

Advances in technology have changed the way students live, play, and learn. Now more than ever, Florida educators use their ingenuity to adapt to both the ever-changing technology and the needs of today’s students. In many cases, educators are preparing students for jobs that do not yet exist. This is a formidable challenge; however, by teaching students essential 21st century skills through the merging of effective technology tools and best practices of instruction, transformative teaching is happening in Florida schools.

State Of Florida Requirements

Florida, like many states, will allow computer science courses to count as a math credit for their graduation. However, it is not a core admission requirement for any institution of higher learning.

Florida currently does mandate that secondary schools offer computer science as a course. Students can access via the Florida Virtual School if a district is unable to provide access.
