In 2019, Missouri adopted the CSTA K-12 Computer Science Standards to increase the equity and inclusivity of computer science education.

State Of Missouri Requirements

Missouri does not yet require high schools to offer computer science yet. However, there is a plan in place to require each public high school to offer at least one computer science course starting in the 2023 – 2024 school year.

A computer science course that aligns to the standards in Missouri may count towards graduation as a math, science, or a possible elective credit.

Currently, there is not a clear path to get teachers certified in computer science education.
