At Rex, we have matched New Mexico’s vision with our own.
New Mexico does not yet require its high schools to offer computer science. A computer science course may count as a math or science credit for graduation in New Mexico under certain circumstances.
In New Mexico, teachers can obtain a computer science endorsement through various methods such as passing an exam, industry certification, and completing other academic requirements.
New Mexico aligns quite well to CSTA therefore has five core computer science concepts:
5 Core Concepts:
Works at home, in class, and on Chromebooks.
Aligns with state and national education standards.
Built for schools. Private, simple, and secure.
No CS degree necessary. Optional teacher included.
