At Rex Academy, we are dedicated to building quality computer science education for all ages. Our core belief is that computer science should be available to all learners as it is a gateway to many opportunities.

Learning to code is comparable to learning reading, writing, and math for this generation. Rex makes this process easy and enjoyable for all!

South Carolina aligns closely to CSTA standards and therefore, is centered around the following five concepts:

5.   Impacts of Computing

In addition, South Carolina expects a computer science student to be literate in the following areas:

Fostering an inclusive computing culture
Collaborating around computing
Recognizing, defining, and analyzing computational problems
Creating, testing, and refining computational artifacts
Communicating about computing

State Of South Carolina Requirements

South Carolina has a computer science requirement for graduation. All high schools in South Carolina must offer at least one computer science course from a list of approved courses.

All students must take at least one computer science course to graduate. Additional computer science courses may count towards graduation in various ways.
