At Rex, we have matched Tennessee’s vision with our own.
Learning to code is comparable to learning reading, writing, and math for this generation. Rex makes this process easy and enjoyable for all!
Tennessee has recently written new standards for computer science for the K-8 environment. The new benchmarks have started reaching classrooms in 2019. Due to low participation in computer science, state officials have stated that the goal is to focus on introducing students to the basics of computer systems and programs.
Other than coding and computer programming which can operate as standalone classes, the rest of the skills are to be integrated into existing core classes in English, math, science, and social studies.
School districts will have some discretion as to how to add coding and programming instruction into the mix.
